PENGARUH SELISIH HARGA BERAS PEMERINTAH DAN PEDAGANG SERTA MASALAH PENGAIRAN TERHADAP MINAT PETANI PADI DI DESA AIR SATAN MUSI RAWAS
Rice farming is one of the main sources of income for the majority of the population in Indonesia, making the issue of farmers' income a matter that requires special attention. This study aims to analyze the existing conditions of rice farming, the profits earned by farmers, and the factors affecting farmers' interest in maintaining rice farming in Air Satan Village, Muara Beliti District, Musi Rawas Regency. A survey method was used, collecting data from 40 farmers through direct interviews. The research findings indicate that the factors significantly affecting the profitability of rice farming include land area (LL) with a significance level of 0.4%, fertilizer use (Pk) with a significance level of 3.4%, labor with a significance level of 0.0%, paddy field irrigation with a significance level of 8.4%, and the dummy variable for land status (owned or rented) with a significance level of 0.0%. The profit earned by farmers during the first planting season was IDR 15,504,357 per hectare, which decreased to IDR 13,978,927 per hectare in the second planting season. Furthermore, binary logistic regression analysis revealed that three factors influencing farmers' interest in maintaining or discontinuing rice farming were the rice price differential (SH) with an odds ratio of 1.003, farming income (PU) with an odds ratio of 1.000, and irrigation smoothness (DKI) with an odds ratio of 18.821. The current government purchase price (HPP) for rice is Rp 11,000, while the purchase price of rice at the collector trader level during the last planting season ranged from Rp 11,000 to Rp 12,000. The study recommends that farmers facing water shortages consider crop rotation with other crops, such as horticulture, and suggests the government implement fair rice pricing policies and address irrigation issues. Future research is encouraged to explore the impact of climate change on rice farming and other variables that may affect farmers' profits.
