One of the villages that has peatlands in South Sumatra is Perigi village, but the peatlands in Perigi village can be classified as degraded with reduced hydrological, production and ecological functions. One of the decomposers and providers of nutrients in peatlands is soil insects. Regarding the role of soil insects in peatlands, it is necessary to conduct research on the types of soil insects found in the peatland area of Perigi Village, South Sumatra. The method used in this research is a qualitative descriptive method and data collection uses roaming sampling techniques and Pitfall traps.
