KEANEKARAGAMAN JENIS REPTIL DI PT SUMATERA PRIMA FIBREBOARD, INDRALAYA UTARA, OGAN ILIR, SUMATRA SELATAN
Sumatra is one of 34 regions in the world with high levels of biodiversity and abundant endemic species. Still, it also faces a very high threat of extinction, one of which is reptiles. Reptile habitats are not immune from changes and conversion of land into settlements or plantations, which has an impact on reducing species richness and abundance, changing community composition, and can eliminate species in these habitats. One of the areas that has been converted into industrial land is PT Sumatra Prima Fibreboard (SPF). This research aims to calculate the reptile species diversity index value at PT SPF, calculate and compare the microhabitats at PT SPF and provide recommendations for habitat management for reptile conservation at PT SPF. The method used in this research is the purposive sampling method and qualitative descriptive method. There were 10 species of reptiles at PT SPF found with a medium diversity index in areas of dense cover and medium cover, and low diversity in open ground. Comparison of areas with dense cover and medium cover produces a value of 0.43, indicating that there is no significant difference, because this area is a habitat with suitable environmental conditions for reptiles to live and breed. Key words: Diversity of reptile species, PT Sumatra Prima Fibreboard, South Sumatra
