PARTISIPASI MASYARAKAT DALAM PENGELOLAAN BANK SAMPAH DI KELURAHAN TALANG KELAPA
This research examines "Community Participation in the Management of Sakura Waste Bank in Talang Kelapa Village, Palembang". The purpose of this research is to find out how community participation in Talang Kelapa Village in the management of Sakura Waste Bank. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with a case study research strategy. Data collection was carried out through interviews with 1 key informant, namely the Director of the Sakura Garbage Bank, 10 main informants, namely Sakura Garbage Bank customers, and corroborated by 2 supporting informants of the Sakura Garbage Bank management, documentation and literature study and then analyzed using the Participation Concept developed by Cohen and Uphoff (1980). The results show that community participation is divided into 4 classifications, namely participation in the decision-making stage, participation in the implementation stage, participation in implementation, and participation in the evaluation stage. At the decision-making stage, the community participates in meetings or deliberations, proposes ideas, is willing to provide data and information, and participates in decision-making. Participation in the implementation stage involves helping during the waste collection schedule, providing ideas/input/solutions, and providing information. Participation in the result utilization stage, the community participates in enjoying the benefits of the waste bank and participates in maintaining the surrounding environment. Participation in the evaluation stage of the community oversees the development of the waste bank, and participates in providing suggestions and criticism of the waste bank. The factors that influence community participation are the benefits felt by the community, such as economic benefits, skills and knowledge benefits, and environmental benefits. In addition to the benefit factor, community participation is also due to the invitation of friends or neighbors, and waste bank administrators who are friendly and close to the community.
