Nanofluids are a classification of heat transfer fluids that are engineered suspension nanoparticles (1-100 nm) dispersed in a fluid. Nanofluids are defined as fluids containing nanoparticles, i.e. nanometre-sized particles. The nanofluid preparation process includes the use of the number of volume fractions, the mixture ratio of nanoparticles to be used, the stirring time, and the time duration of the ultrasonic system. In each parameter, 3 levels are used. In the surfactant concentration, the 3 levels used are 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%. In the use of nanoparticle ratio mixture used is 70%:30%, 50%:50%, 30%:70%. In volume fraction, the 3 levels to be used are 0.2%, 0.4% & 0.6%. And the stirring time is 30, 60 and 90 minutes. The time duration of the ultrasonic system was 60, 90, and 120 minutes. Next, thermophysical properties testing was carried out including density testing to find density value of the nanofluid using a pycnometer & analytical balance. Then, viscosity testing was also carried out using a digital viscometer. Hereafter, the results of density and viscosity test data are processed into graphs and tables using the Taguchi Method & ANOVA. In density test, sample 3 had the highest density. For viscosity test, sample 4 had the best viscosity value. In addition, photo sedimentation test was conducted to see the stability of the dispersion which was monitored for one month. Samples that look the most optimal are proceeded for observation from the results of lab tests at UNSRI’s Scanning Electron Microscopy test of TiO2 - MWCNT/Aquades nanofluids.
