HAMBATAN EKSUDAT RIMPANG TANAMAN KAPULAGA (Elettaria cardamomum) TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN Colletotrichum spp. PENYEBAB PENYAKIT ANTRAKNOSA PADA CABAI MERAH KERITING (Capsicum annuum)
Chili is a plant from the genus Capsicum. Anthracnose is an important disease in red chili plants. The cause of anthracnose in chili fruit is known to originate from three fungal species: C. acutatum, C. gloeosporioides and C. capsici. This result aimed to determine the effect of cardamom rhizome exudates on the growth of Colletotrichum spp. in vitro and to examine whether cardamom rhizome exudates can suppress the fungal infection caused by Colletotrichum spp. The result consisted of in vitro inhibitory tests designed using a completely randomized design (CRD) method with 5 replications for the in vitro tests, and data analysis was conducted using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The in vitro tests involved 10 samples of rhizome exudates at concentrations of 0%, 1.25%, 5%, and 20%, each with 5 replications. The findings of this study showed that the use of various rhizome exudates from cardamom plants did not differ significantly compared to the 0% treatment (without treatment). The final results of this result indicated that the 10 cardamom plant (Elettaria cardamomum) exudates were not effective in inhibiting the growth of Colletotrichum spp. colonies. The application of cardamom rhizome exudates as a whole did not affect the EC and pH values of the media colonized by Colletotrichum spp.
