STRUKTUR KOMUNITAS MAKROZOOBENTOS DI SUNGAI GASING KECAMATAN TALANG KELAPA KABUPATEN BANYUASIN SUMATERA SELATAN
The Gasing River is used for various household and industrial activities. The high utilization of the Gasing River can provide waste input thereby reducing water quality which will affect the life of aquatic organisms, one of which is macrozoobenthos. Macrozoobenthos can be used as a bioindicator of water quality because of its sedentary life characteristics and varying adaptability to environmental conditions. This research aims to determine the structure of the macrozoobenthic community in the Gasing River which includes density, diversity, macrozoobenthic dominance index and community similarity index between stations. This research was carried out in March-July 2024. The process of observing and identifying macrozoobenthos samples was carried out in the laboratory. The research method used was direct observation in the field by determining stations using purposive sampling. The research results showed that there were 2 phyla, 2 classes, 2 orders, 3 families and 4 species. The average density of macrozoobenthic species ranges from 8-74 ind/m² with the macrozoobenthic diversity index value classified as low criteria and the dominant species being Limnodrilus sp., as well as the macrozoobenthic community similarity index with relatively the same criteria (50%-100%) at stations 1 and 2, 1 and 3, 1 and 4, 2 and 4 while the relative criteria are different (40%) at stations 3 and 4.
