STRUKTUR KOMUNITAS MAKROZOOBENTOS DI BEBERAPA KOLAM RETENSI KOTA PALEMBANG
Palembang is an area proned by major flooding causes the meeting of high tides and rainfall. Therefore, the Government built Retention Ponds as a temporary water discharge area. increasing activity of local communities by throwing wastes into retention ponds affect the quality of the waters and living creatures in retention ponds. This research aims to analyze the structure of the Macrozoobenthic community and find out the relationship between macrozoobenthic diversity and substrate characteristics found in some Palembang City Retention Ponds. This research was carried out from March to July 2024. The research method was carried out using a survey method, namely direct observation in the field by determining stations using purposive sampling. The research results were 3 classes, 7 orders, 7 families and 11 species in some retention ponds in Palembang City. The average diversity of macrozoobenthos from 598 to 1661 ind/m2. The macrozoobenthic diversity value is classified as medium criteria (1,2 - 1,8) and the macrozoobenthic dominance value is classified as low category, indicating that there are no dominant individuals (0,2 – 0,4) and the similarity of the macrozoobenthic community with relatively the same criteria as station 1 and 3, (50%-63%). The correlation between the sand fraction was found to have a positive coefficient compared to the Mud and Clay Fractions, meaning that the two variables had a very strong positive linear relationship.
