EFEKTIVITAS KEGIATAN REVEGETASI GAMBUT EKS TERBAKAR DI HUTAN PRODUKSI TERBATAS PEDAMARAN KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR OLEH BIDANG PDAS-RHL DINAS KEHUTANAN PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Pedamaran Limited Production Forest (HPT Pedamaran) in Ogan Komering Ilir Regency became the object of revegetation activities after experiencing peatland fires in 2015. This activity was a mandate from the President to the Peat Restoration Agency (BRG) implemented by the Watershed Management and Forest and Land Rehabilitation Division (PDAS-RHL) of the South Sumatra Provincial Forestry Service. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of revegetation activities in restoring degraded peatlands. Using a qualitative approach and the theory of program effectiveness from McDavid and Hawthorn, this study evaluated input, process, output, outcome, and sustainability indicators. The results showed that the effectiveness of revegetation activities was influenced by the right allocation of funds, the involvement of competent human resources and the right method, namely the paludiculture method that maintains the water level. Community participation in land preparation and maintenance also contributed to the success of the program, so that the acceleration of peat ecosystem recovery was achieved. In addition, there were no more cases of fires in the revegetation area, and biodiversity increased. This study recommends the development of educational programs for farmers, increased community participation, and regulatory support from the government, as well as the development of derivative products to increase economic output. The results of the study indicate that revegetation activities in HPT Pedamaran have been effective and can be used as a model for similar efforts in the future.
