KAJIAN KECUKUPAN JENIS ALAT DAN MESIN PERTANIAN PRAPANEN DAN PASCAPANEN DI DESA KURIPAN KECAMATAN TELUK GELAM KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR SUMATERA SELATAN
Agricultural mechanization is an important factor in increasing the productivity and efficiency of farming, especially in agrarian countries like Indonesia. However, the limited availability of agricultural tools and machinery (alsintan) is often an obstacle for farmers in optimizing agricultural activities. This study aims to assess the adequacy level of pre-harvest and post-harvest agricultural tools and machinery in Kuripan Village, Teluk Gelam Sub district, Ogan Komering Ilir Regency, South Sumatra. The research method used was field surveys and interviews with farmers and farmer groups in the village. The data obtained were studied determine the availability, needs, and shortages of agricultural tools and machinery at various stages of farming. The results showed that although some tools such as two-wheeled tractors, water pumps, and sprayers were available in sufficient quantities, there was still a significant shortage of tools such as four-wheeled tractors, cultivators, combine harvesters, power threshers, hullers, and dryers. These shortcomings impact on farmers' work efficiency and the agricultural yields obtained, so farmers still rely on traditional methods that are slower and less effective. Based on these findings, support is needed from the government and the private sector in the form of agricultural equipment and machinery assistance, subsidies, and training in the operation and maintenance of alsintan. With an increase in the availability and utilization of more modern agricultural technology, it is expected that the productivity and welfare of farmers in Kuripan Village can increase significantly.
