PRODUKSI DAN REPRODUKSI MAKNA TRADISI SINOMAN PADA MASYARAKAT JAWA DI DESA SRI KATON KECAMATAN AIR SALEK KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
The sinoman tradition is one of the traditions of the javanese people which is interpreted as an activity of helping to lighten the burden of the householder which reflects the bond of social reciprocity. The aim of this research is to gain an in depth understanding of the production and reproduction of the meaning of the sinoman tradition in srikaton village as a new place for this tradition. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative with an ethnographic approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. Then analyzed using the circuit of culture concept from Stuart Hall. The results of the research show that the process of representing sinoman traditional practices adopted from their place of origin and still being implemented in the area today then developed into a socio-cultural practices that are not only carried out by the Javanese tribe, but other tribes in Sri Katon village are also involved. Production and reproduction process of sinoman traditions in sri katon village shows a shift in meaning, namely helping, which reflects social reciprocity and social cohesivenesess of society, which is done with the expectation of reward.
