ANALISIS TINGKAT KEPARAHAN KEBAKARAN HUTAN DAN LAHAN MENGGUNAKAN METODE DIFFERENCED NORMALIZED BURN RATIO (Studi Kasus : KHG Sungai Ulakkedondong – Sungai Lumpur, Kabupaten Ogan Komering Ilir)
Ogan Komering Ilir (OKI) Regency in South Sumatra is a region with extensive peatlands that are highly prone to fires during the dry season. This study aims to analyze the severity of forest and land fires in the Peat Hydrological Unit (KHG) of Sungai Ulakkedondong – Sungai Lumpur for the years 2015, 2019, and 2023 using the Normalized Burn Ratio (NBR) and Differenced Normalized Burn Ratio (dNBR) methods. Utilizing Landsat 8 imagery and hotspot data, this research identifies the burned area extent and assesses fire severity. The findings reveal a significant decline in the burned area, from 34,219.22 hectares in 2015 to 29,548.54 hectares in 2019, and further down to 14,698.54 hectares in 2023. Fire severity predominantly ranged from low to moderate levels, with the most severe fires occurring in 2015. The areas with the highest damage were concentrated in the southern and central parts of the KHG.
