Blasting is one of method to loose interburden layer B2 - C in pit Tambang air laya selatan used by PT Bukit Asam (Persero) Tbk. One that must be controlled and be considered in a blasting is powder factor. Optimal Powder factor that will produce effective and efficient blasting and increase productivity of digging and loading equipment. Target productivity of Hydraulic Excavator Komatsu PC 2000 for blasting material is 935 Bcm/hour. Data of powder factor on the location Tambang air laya from May to August show that the powder factor value was fluctuated, so we need a study to obtain optimal value blasting Powder Factor which at the time of excavation and loading of blasting materials by hydraulic excavator komatsu pc 2000 can reach productivity target 935 Bcm/hour. The results of the processing of the actual data that have been taken during the research showed the value of blasting powder factor is at a value of 0.19 kg/bcm, 0.20 kg/bcm, 0.21 kg/bcm, 0.22 kg/bcm, 0.24 kg/bcm, 0.27 kg/bcm and 0.28 kg/bcm. The results of the powder factor analysis value is optimal for achieving productivity target 935 bcm/hour are in powder factor of 0.24 kg/bcm, 0.27 kg/bcm and 0.28 kg/bcm. The analysis showed that the optimal powder factor produce fragmentation of rock with a size > 100 cm by 2.82 % to Powder factor of 0.28 kg/bcm, 5.42% for Powder factor of 0.27 kg/bcm and 8,66 % for Powder factor of 0.24 kg/bcm. Productivity that was achieved by the optimal powder factor amounted to 979.62 bcm/hour in powder factor of 0.28 kg/bcm, 958.16 bcm/hour in powder factor of 0.27 kg/bcm, and 955.72 bcm/hour in powder factor 0.24 kg/bcm.
