UJI EKSTRAK TANAMAN TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN DAN DAYA INFEKSI Pestalotiopsis sp. PENYEBAB GUGUR DAUN KARET (Hevea brasiliensis Muell. Arg) SECARA IN VITRO
Pestalotiopsis sp. is a pathogen that causes rubber leaf fall disease with symptoms of small spots developing into necrosis around the spots. Biofungicides have several advantages over synthetic fungicides, namely that they are safer for the environment and health because the active compounds in biofungicides have low anti-pathogenic activity where the risk of side effects and poisoning is lower, and lower costs because biofungicides are derived from natural ingredients. Plants that have potential as biofungicidal agents because they have bioactive compounds that can inhibit fungal growth include pineapple peel (Ananas comosus L. Merr.) neem leaves (Azadirachta indica Juss.) and lemongrass plants (Cimbopogon citratus L.) This study was conducted to determine the effectiveness of pineapple peel extract, neem leaves and lemongrass in suppressing the growth of Pestalotiopsis sp. fungi and infectivity on rubber leaves in the laboratory. The research was conducted at the Phytopathology Laboratory of the Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture and the evaporation process was carried out at the Joint Basic Laboratory (LDB) of Sriwijaya University. The research began in August 2023 until October 2023. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments including control with 5 replicates. Treatments include control (K0); fungicide (K1); pineapple peel (K2); neem (K3) and lemongrass (K4). The study consisted of 2 series, namely the effectiveness test of pineapple peel extract, neem leaves and lemongrass against the growth of Pestalotiopsis sp. in petri dishes and the infectivity test of Pestalotiopsis sp. on laboratory-scale rubber leaves. The results of this study showed that pineapple peel extract, neem leaves and lemongrass had a very significant effect in suppressing the growth of Pestalotiopsis sp. and infectivity on rubber leaves in the laboratory. Lemongrass extract is the most effective extract used as a vegetable biofungicide because it can suppress Pestalotiopsis sp. 100%, followed by pineapple extract and neem leaf extract.
