Medan is the largest city in Sumatera and the third largest city in indonesia. This city become a gateway to the westem region of indonesia and the gateway for the foreign tourists who will visit indonesia. Development of the tourists who came to Medan continously increases each year. This can be seen in the development of air transport. To accomodate the tourists that contionous to increase, the intemational airport of the city of Medan which had been located in Polonia transferred to Kualanamu. This airport which began operating in 2013 was the new airport that was still did not have complete infrastructure and support facilities inside. Vision and mission of the airport is creating the intemational aerotropolis area or airport city area that is supported with completeness of infrastructure and facilities in the airport area. One of that ways is to provide accomodation facilities such as hotel. Masterplan of Kualanamu Airport requires to build 5-stars hotel in the airport area. The location that within the airport area requires the construction of this hotel has to comply with the Masterplan and KKOP of the airport. Modem architecture approach in the planning of the hotel was chosen as one of the ways to realize the airport city area.
