RESPON PERTUMBUHAN TANAMAN CHAYA (CNIDOSCOLIS ACONITIFOLIUS) PADA BEBERAPA VARIASI PEMANGKASAN MELALUI SISTEM BOTTOM-WET-CULTURE DAN SETELAH PEMULIHAN
Chaya is a plant that can be consumed leaves because it contains many vitamins that are beneficial to health. As a perenial leafy vegetable that has potential to be developed throughout the year, a Bottom-wet-culture system with a variety of pruning is required. The study was aimed to determine the best pruning on chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius (Mill.) I.M.Johnst.) cultivated in the bottom Wet Culture system. The research was conducted in Jakabaring District (104°46'4" East; 3°01'35" LS), Palembang City, South Sumatra from July to September 2023. The research materials were arranged following the rules of group randomized block design (RAK) consisting of one (1) factor, namely pruning variation. Pruning variations consisted of three (3) treatment levels, namely no pruning (P0), leaving 2 buds (P2) and leaving 3 buds (P3). The data obtained were statistically analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with the least significant difference test (BNT) at the 5% test level. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that pruning treatment has no significant effect on the growth of chaya plants cultivated with bottom-wet-culture system. The botto-wet-culture system creates water-saturated soil conditions that inhibit growth, especially in the root zone. As for the duration of recovery, it is stated that 2 weeks after recovery (R2) all parameters tend to increase compared to R0 and R1, this is because due to the stress of excess water, the chaya plants require a little longer to return to normal.
