ANALISIS PENGARUH VARIASI FRAKSI VOLUME TERHADAP SIFAT MEKANIK DAN FISIK KOMPOSIT POLYESTER DENGAN FILLER PARTIKEL SILICON KARBIDE
Composite is a combination of two or more different materials to obtain materials with physical properties and mechanical properties better than any of its constituent components. This study aims to analyze the mechanical properties and physical properties of the composite polyester reinforced silica carbides particles are included in the Composite particles mechanical properties and physical properties measured were the tensile strength, tensile strain, modulus of elasticity, impact and value of energy density. These properties can be obtained from tensile testing, impact testing and density testing. Polyester type used is Yukalac 157 BTQN while filler used was silica fly carbides. Specimens originally created by filtration using a 100 mesh, specimens prepared by in print with hand lay-up method and tested with Standard tensile test JIS Z 2201, JIS Z 2202 impact, and density ASTM D 792. The variation of the volume used is 90 % resin 10% silica carbides, 80% resin 20 % silica carbides, 70 % resin 30% silica Carbide and 60 % resin 40 % silica carbides. The optimum results obtained from the variation of the volume fraction of 60% to 40 % silica resin carbides ie tensile stress of 2,302 kgf / mm2, tensile strain of 0.416 %, the modulus of elasticity of 3,157 kgf / mm2, impact energy value of 0.0135 Joules / mm2, and the density of 1.0245 g / mm3.
