STRATEGI KEBERLANJUTAN PROGRAM DESA MANDIRI PEDULI GAMBUT (DMPG) BERBASIS KEARIFAN LOKAL DI DESA SIDO MULYO KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
The Desa Mandiri Peduli Gambut (DMPG) program represents a critical government initiative for peat ecosystem management and restoration through community engagement. This research investigates the sustainability strategies of the DMPG program in Sido Mulyo Village, Banyuasin Regency, focusing on local wisdom and strategic factors influencing program continuity. Employing a census method with 30 respondents, the study utilized descriptive analytical and SWOT matrix approaches to comprehensively examine program dynamics. The findings revealed significant local wisdom practices, including organic fertilizer production from livestock manure and traditional agricultural mutual cooperation. Internal factors analysis highlighted community participation, natural resource availability, and governmental support as key strengths, while identifying capital limitations and technical knowledge gaps as potential challenges. External environmental assessments emphasized the roles of governmental policies, local economic conditions, and community environmental consciousness. The SWOT matrix analysis positioned the program in the Strengths-Opportunities quadrant, indicating substantial potential for strategic development. Recommendations include targeted community training programs and strategic institutional partnerships to enhance program sustainability. This research contributes valuable insights into community-based environmental conservation strategies, demonstrating the critical intersection of local wisdom, institutional support, and sustainable development practices.
