REDESAIN GEDUNG REKTORAT UNIVERSITAS BANGKA BELITUNG DENGAN PENDEKATAN DESAIN PASIF
The Rectorate Building of Bangka Belitung University currently faces various obstacles both physically and functionally. The building is inadequate in terms of thermal comfort, air circulation and energy efficiency. Global warming increases energy consumption in buildings and conditions in tropical areas, including Bangka, make energy needs even higher. Passive Design was chosen as an approach to utilize climate elements to maintain thermal comfort in buildings. There are three main aspects, namely building orientation, environmental quality, and climate. This concept is designed to optimize thermal comfort and energy efficiency of buildings by utilizing natural conditions around to maximize natural lighting and ventilation. The application of this concept will be implemented on the site and building with several elements such as spatial layout, facade design, structural systems, and circulation. The main goal is to reduce energy consumption on lighting and artificial ventilation to provide comfort for users.
