PEMETAAN PERUBAHAN GARIS PANTAI DAN PENGARUHNYA TERHADAP LUASAN MANGROVE DI PESISIR BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN MENGGUNAKAN GOOGLE EARTH ENGINE (GEE)
The Banyuasin coast, as an estuarine area influenced by tidal fluctuations and river flows, experiences sedimentation dynamics that cause shoreline changes in the form of abrasion and accretion, impacting the surrounding mangrove ecosystem. This study aims to analyze shoreline changes, mangrove area, their correlation, sediment characteristics, and sedimentation rates. The research was conducted in October 2024 along the Banyuasin coast (Muara Banyuasin and the western part of the Musi River) in South Sumatra. Landsat 5, 7, 8, and 9 satellite imagery was utilized through the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform for spatial and temporal monitoring from 1995 to 2023. Additionally, the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) method was applied to calculate shoreline changes. Sediment samples were collected using grab pipes and sediment traps for substrate and sedimentation rate analysis. The results indicate that the total shoreline change reached 510.074 meters, with accretion dominating at 80,60%, compared to abrasion at 19,40%. Accretion contributed to a 247,39 hectare increase in mangrove area, while abrasion resulted in a 11,26 hectare loss of mangroves. Sediment characteristics varied across stations, with clay and sand being the dominant types. The highest sedimentation rate was recorded at Station 5, reaching 4,12 kg/m²/day, indicating an intensive sedimentation process in this area. Significant correlations was found between shoreline changes and the extent of mangrove areas in the Banyuasin Coast, South Sumatra. Keywords : DSAS, Shoreline, GEE, Mangrove, Sedimentation
