ANALISIS PERBANDINGAN BAHAN AKRILIK DENGAN POLIKARBONAT SEBAGAI PELINDUNG PANEL SURYA TERHADAP DAYA KELUARAN PADA PHOTOVOLTAIC JENIS MONOCRYSTALLINE 50 WP
Solar energy is a promising renewable energy source in Indonesia, but its performance is influenced by factors such as temperature, light intensity, and panel cleanliness. This study compares the effectiveness of acrylic and polycarbonate as protective covers for 50 Wp monocrystalline solar panels. Tests were conducted over 10 days under three conditions: without cover (PV1), with polycarbonate cover (PV2), and with acrylic cover (PV3), measuring voltage, current, surface temperature, and power output. The results show that PV3 produced the highest average power at 9.43 W, followed by PV1 at 8.05 W, and PV2 at 7.29 W. Despite higher temperatures, PV3 performed better due to acrylic’s high light transmission (90–92%), resulting in greater current and power. In contrast, polycarbonate reduced performance due to lower light transmission and higher temperatures. Thus, acrylic is more effective in enhancing power output while providing physical protection compared to polycarbonate or no cover.
