PENGARUH PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN ”LIRIKAN” TERHADAP PENGETAHUAN DAN KETERAMPILAN REMAJA PUTRI MENGENAI PEMERIKSAAN PAYUDARA SENDIRI (SADARI)
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women. Adolescent girls are at risk of experiencing it, but many still lack the knowledge and skills to perform breast self-examination (BSE). Health education is an important step in prevention and early detection efforts. Therefore, the educational media “LIRIKAN” was developed to help adolescents understand and practice BSE. This study aims to determine the effect of health education using the “LIRIKAN” media on the knowledge and skills of adolescent girls in performing BSE. The study used a true-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design approach. The sample consisted of 44 adolescent girls from SMA Negeri 1 Indralaya Utara who were divided into two groups, namely the intervention group with the “LIRIKAN” media and the control group with leaflets. The results of the paired t-test showed a significant difference between knowledge and skills before and after the intervention (p = 0.000). The independent t-test showed a significant difference between the “LIRIKAN” and leaflet groups, both in knowledge (p = 0.021) and skills (p = 0.008). This study shows that the “LIRIKAN” media is more effective than the leaflet media in improving BSE knowledge and skills in adolescent girls. The results of this study recommend the use of the “LIRIKAN” media as a health education intervention in improving BSE knowledge and skills.
