STRATEGI KOMUNIKASI PENGURUS BESAR PERSATUAN PANAHAN INDONESIA (PB PERPANI) DALAM UPAYA MENINGKATKAN POPULARITAS OLAHRAGA PANAHAN
There are many types of sports that are recognised by the people of Indonesia, but not all sports have the same popularity among the public. There are sports that are very popular such as athletics, football, and badminton, but there are also those that are still less popular and less desirable, one of which is archery. Archery sport has a central management organisation called Pengurus Besar Persatuan Panahan Indonesia (PB PERPANI) which has the task of fostering, managing, developing, and introducing archery to the wider community so that the popularity of archery among the public is increasing. To introduce and increase its popularity, PB PERPANI needs a communication strategy. This research aims to find out the communication strategy implemented by PB PERPANI as an effort to increase the popularity of archery. This research uses the theory of communication strategy according to Hafied Cangara which has 5 stages or dimensions namely research, planning, implementation, evaluation, and reporting. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method and uses data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of the study, it shows that PB PERPANI's communication strategy to increase the popularity of archery has been carried out in various ways such as through digital media and through various events that are held directly.
