ANALISIS FAKTOR PENGHAMBAT DAN STRATEGI IMPLEMENTASI KONSEP GREEN CONSTRUCTION PADA PERUSAHAAN KONTRAKTOR DI KOTA PALEMBANG
Global warming and extreme climate change have become urgent issues across many parts of the world, including Indonesia. The construction industry is responsible for a significant portion of resource consumption and pollution emissions, contributing approximately 30% to 50% of global carbon emissions. Therefore, the implementation of sustainable building construction practices is essential to reduce carbon emissions throughout the building life cycle. The green construction concept has emerged as a solution that emphasizes resource efficiency and environmental impact reduction throughout the entire life cycle of a building. The Indonesian government has adopted this approach through the “Indonesia Construction 2030” agenda and regulations related to green building standards. Palembang, as one of the cities undergoing rapid development, requires an evaluation of how this concept is being implemented by local contractors. However, the practical application of green construction in the city remains limited. Hence, this study is necessary to identify the main inhibiting factors and formulate applicable strategies to encourage the adoption of green construction. The research was conducted by distributing questionnaires to 50 contractor companies in Palembang and resulted in the identification of five major inhibiting factors along with five key strategies to overcome these challenges.
