PENGARUH TINGGI TUMPUKAN TERHADAP KARAKTERISITK PENGERINGAN GABAH MENGGUNAKAN PENGERING TIPE BAK BERBAHAN BAKAR CANGKANG KELAPA SAWIT
This research is motivated by the design of a tub-type dryer but the optimal stack height of the dried material is not yet known. This research aims to determine the drying characteristics of grain using a tub-type dryer of various stack heights. This research has been conducted at the Water Land Engineering Machinery Laboratory, Agricultural Engineering Study Program, Department of Agricultural Technology, Sriwijaya University, using experimental methods and descriptive data presentation. The results of the study are presented in the form of figures and tables, the treatment of pile height used is 5 cm, 10 cm and 15 cm. The results showed that the 5 cm pile height treatment resulted in the lowest fuel consumption rate of 0.48 kg/hour, the highest drying rate of 5.26%/hour and the highest energy efficiency result of 22.25%. On the other hand, the stack height of 15 cm produces the highest fuel consumption rate of 0.7 kg/hour, the lowest drying rate of 1.81%/hour and the lowest efficiency result of 12.12%.
