Obstacles in oil palm cultivation include the attack of horned beetle Oryctes rhinoceros. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Bacillus thuringiensis bio-insecticide based on tapioca dregs and oil palm cake on the mortality of O. rhinoceros larvae. This research was carried out in the green house using the Randomized Complate Block Design (RCBD) method. The study consisted of 6 treatments and 4 replication as a comparison given water control treatment and insecticide control. Each replication was given 10 O. rhinoceros larvae as test insects. The application was carried out in the green house, each treatment was given a different dose, namely P1 (10 g bioinsecticide), P2 (20 g bioinsecticide), P3 (30 g bioinsecticide), P4 (40 g bioinsecticide), P5 (insecticide control), P6 (water control). From the results obtained, after application bioinsecticide B. thuringiensis showed significantly different results in each treatment. with the highest mortality of O. rhinoceros larvae infected with B. thuringiensis bacteria in treatments 3 and 4 which reached 100% within 20 days, while the lowest mortality in treatment 1 which only reached 87,50% within 20 days. Symptoms of infection caused by B thuringiensis in the test insect larvae showed symptoms such as a change in color from white to brownish black, decreased appetite, the body becomes soft and there a liquid or mucus that has an unpleasant odor. In some treatments, death occurred 24 hours after application. This is related to environmental factors that can affect the mortality rate of the test insect larvae.
