ANALISIS WILLINGNESS TO PAY (WTP) PENGUNJUNG DALAM UPAYA PENGEMBANGAN EKOWISATA MANGROVE DI DESA SUNGSANG IV KECAMATAN BANYUASIN II KABUPATEN BANYUASIN
Ecotourism of mangroves is a type of ecotourism that focuses on the preservation and promotion of the mangrove forest ecosystem. Mangrove forests are coastal ecosystems consisting of plants that thrive at the boundary between fresh and saltwater. Mangrove ecotourism aims to raise awareness among communities about the importance of mangroves as a unique and crucial habitat for various marine life and birds. One form of mangrove ecotourism in South Sumatra is the mangrove ecosystem located in Sungsang IV Village. Efforts towards sustainable development of ecotourism need to be undertaken by both the local community and visitors to ensure the mangrove ecosystem remains sustainable and can be utilized responsibly. The objectives of this research were: (1) to determine the willingness to pay (WTP) of visitors in the effort to develop mangrove ecotourism in Sungsang IV Village, (2) to analyze the influence of factors such as education level, income level, number of children in the family, age, gender, distance, and cost to the location on the willingness to pay (WTP) in the effort to develop mangrove ecotourism in Sungsang IV Village, and (3) to analyze the strategies for the development of mangrove ecotourism in Sungsang IV Village. The research was conducted in Sungsang IV Village, Banyuasin II District, Banyuasin Regency. The Contingent Valuation Method (CVM) was employed, using a direct approach where respondents were asked about their Willingness to Pay (WTP) for additional benefits from the current situation. A total of 30 respondents were interviewed, with 25 respondents willing to pay for the development of mangrove ecotourism in Sungsang IV Village, while the remaining 5 respondents were not willing to pay. The average WTP value for visitors is Rp17,333 per visitor per year, rounded to Rp17,500 per visitor per year, with a total WTP value of Rp42,000,000 per year. Significant factors influencing the willingness to pay of visitors for the development of mangrove ecotourism in Sungsang IV Village include age and the cost of traveling to the location. Meanwhile, other factors such as education level, income level, gender, and distance do not significantly affect the decision of visitors' willingness to pay for mangrove ecotourism in Sungsang IV Village.
