The aims of this research are: 1) To prove the significance of the influence of rising rice prices on changes in the amount of rice consumed by households in Pahlawan Village, Kemuning District, Palembang City; 2) To prove the influence of the increase in rice prices on the quality of rice consumed by households in the sub-district; 3) To analyze changes in the proportion of spending on rice and other food in total household consumption expenditure in the sub-district. This research uses a survey method. This research was conducted in November 2023 with a sample size of 45 households in Pahlawan District. Data were processed using descriptive analysis and multiple linear and logistic regression. The research results show that: 1) The variables price of rice, income, age and number of household members have a significant effect on the amount of rice consumed, but employment and education have no effect on the amount of rice consumption which does not change (fixed); 2) The income variable has a significant effect on the quality of rice consumed by households. However, the price of rice, age, number of household members, occupation and education do not have a significant effect on the quality of rice consumption; 3) There was a change in the proportion of household rice consumption expenditure which increased while the proportion of other food consumption decreased in the high income group by 2.33%, the medium income group by 1.63% and the low income group by 2.27%.
