ANALISIS PREFERENSI KONSUMEN TERHADAP BERAS PUTIH ORGANIK DI KOTA PALEMBANG
Organic rice comes in various types, including white, red, and black rice. In Palembang, the consumption of organic rice has been increasing as public awareness of healthy food choices grows. White organic rice has become the primary choice for consumers, who consider factors such as physical quality, packaging, and price. This study aims to identify the socio-economic characteristics of consumers purchasing white organic rice, analyze preferences regarding product attributes such as aroma, shelf life, taste, and nutritional value, and examine the factors influencing purchasing decisions for white organic rice. The research used accidental sampling with 50 respondents, and the data were analyzed using Microsoft Excel and SPSS. The results indicate that the characteristics of consumers purchasing white organic rice are predominantly women with higher education, young adults, from families with 3-4 members, and with incomes below IDR 10,000,000. Consumer preferences for white organic rice are influenced by attributes such as aroma, shelf life, taste, and nutritional value, while shelf life is considered neutral in relation to preferences. Economic factors such as the price of non-organic rice, income, and family size significantly influence purchasing decisions, whereas the price of organic does not have a significant impact. This study provides insights into consumer preferences for white organic rice. The findings can serve as a reference for producers and marketers in developing more effective marketing strategies. Future research could explore other factors affecting the consumption of organic rice across different market segments.
