KUALITAS KECERNAAN RUMPUT PAKCHONG (PENNISETUM PURPURUEM VAR THAILAND) DENGAN INOKULUM CAIRAN RUMEN TERADAPTASI NPN RUMINOFRASS SECARA IN VITRO
The characteristics of rumen fluid influence the quality of feed digestibility in the rumen, since rumen microbial activity is also affected by the substrate that ruminants are used to consuming. The purpose of this study was to study the quality of pakchong grass digestibility In Vitro using rumen fluid inoculum adapted to NPN Ruminofrass. This study was conducted at the Animal Nutrition and Feed Laboratory, Department of Animal Technology and Industry, Animal Science Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University, from October to November 2023. The T test method of statistics was applied to process the data in this study, which had two treatments and ten replications. The parameters measured In Vitro were dry matter digestibility, total VFA, pH, gas generation, and N-Ammonia. Ruminofrass NPN treatment has a higher parameter value than the control significantly. The dry matter digestibility was 29.62% vs 27,45%, total VFA 176,25 mM vs 82,50 mM, the production of gases 2,90, mL vs 2,83 mL, and N-Ammonia 46,48 mM vs 21,86 mM, while preserving the pH value to maintain the fermentation process in the rumen. Based on research it can be concluded that the addition of NPN Ruminofrass can increase the total VFA and N-Ammonia values compared to controls.
