RESPON PERTUMBUHAN CHAYA (CNIDOSCOLUS ACONITIFOLIUS) DENGAN PEMBERIAN MULSA ORGANIK DAN INTENSITAS PENYIRAMAN BERBEDA
The Chaya plant (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius (Mill.) I.M. Johnst.) is a perennial plant that is not widely known to the Indonesian community, despite being a nutritious vegetable with many benefits. This research was aimed to determine the growth response of Chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) to the application of organic mulch and different watering intensities. The study was conducted in the Jakabaring district (104°46'4" E; 43°01'35" S), Palembang City, South Sumatra. The research period spanned from May 2023 to July 2023. The study employed a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consisting of one (1) factor, namely organic mulch with variations in watering intensity. The organic mulch used was from the leaves of Terminalia mantaly. The selected treatment levels included no organic mulch and no watering (T0), covered with organic mulch without watering (T1), and covered with organic mulch with watering (T2). Each treatment was replicated three (3) times, with five (5) plants in each replication, totaling 45 observed plants. The research results showed that the three treatments given had no significant effect on chaya growth. Watering and the use of mulch can increase soil moisture, the more moist soil moisture, it will affect the growth of chaya plants
