PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN SUMBER KARBON YANG BERBEDA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN SERTA EFISIENSI PAKAN IKAN LELE (Clarias sp.) DAN PEMBENTUKAN BIOFLOK
Catfish rearing using biofloc technology usually use molasses as a carbon source. Another carbon source that has never been tried in the biofloc technology of catfish production using swamp probiotics is tapioca flour. This research aimed to determine the effect of adding tapioca flour carbon sources and swamp probiotics in catfish rearing using biofloc technology. This research was carried out at the Aquaculture Laboratory and Experimental Ponds, and the Microbiology and Biotechnology Laboratory of Fishery Products, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research was carried out in April - June 2023. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 treatments and 3 replications, namely P0: Addition of molasses at a dose of 182 mL m-3 (control), P1: Addition of tapioca flour at a dose of 162.64 g m-3. The results showed that P1 was the best treatment with a floc volume ranges 6.33–63 mL L-1, absolute length growth 10.19 cm, absolute weight growth 27.93 g, survival growth rate (SGR) 6.15%, feed efficiency 123.33%, survival 89.85%, biomass production 29856.71 g, temperature range 26.3–31.6 ̊C,, pH 6.55–7.71, Dissolved Oxygen (DO) 4.37–5.87 mg L-1, ammonia 0.020–2.31 mg L-1, and Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) 690–929.33 mg L-1. Therefore it is recommended to give a carbon source of tapioca flour to fish rearing media using biofloc technology.
