PENGARUH PENGGUNAAN SUMBER KARBON MOLASE DAN TAPIOKA TERHADAP PERTUMBUHAN, EFISIENSI PEMANFAATAN PAKAN IKAN GURAMI
Giant gourami fish (Oshpronemus goramy) reared using biofloc technology are thought to be able to increase growth, feed efficiency and biomass production. The role of carbon sources and probiotics are needed in biofloc. This research used carbon sources such as molasses and tapioca flour, and used probiotics from swamps. This research aimed to determine the effect of using different carbon sources, namely molasses and tapioca, in rearing gourami fish with biofloc. This research was carried out at the Aquaculture Laboratory and Experimental Ponds, and the Laboratory of Microbiology and Biotechnology of Fishery Products, Department of Fisheries, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University. This research was carried out in July-August 2023. This research used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of two treatments and three replications. The treatment in this study was the provision of different carbon sources, namely molasses 182 mL m-3 (P1) and the carbon source tapioca 162.64 g m-3 (P2) by adding probiotics from swamp Bacillus sp. and Streptomyces sp. with a bacterial density of 105 CFU mL-1. The results showed that P2 was the best treatment with a flock volume of 5.33 mL L-1, absolute length growth of 3.33 cm, absolute weight growth of 16.51 g, Spesific Growth Rate (SGR) 2.58% day-1, feed efficiency 63.76%, survival 97.35%, biomass production 1537.67 g, temperature ranges from 25.8-29.1 ºC, pH ranges from 6.87-8.14, Dissolved Oxygen (DO) ranges from 4.4-7.80 mg L-1, ammonia ranges from 0.40-2.09 mg L-1 and Total Dissolved Solid (TDS) ranges from 524.67-693.67 mg L-1. So adding a carbon source of tapioca in raising fish using biofloc technology is recommended.
