EVALUASI PENGARUH PENETESAN Beauveria bassiana DAN Metarhizium anispoliae TERHADAP TELUR Cheilomenes sexmaculata (Fabr.)
Spodoptera frugiperda (J.E. Smith) is an important pest of widely cultivated corn plants. According to its origin, S. frugiperda originates from the Americas and has spread widely to other countries such as Australia, China, India, Malaysia, the Philippines and Thailand, including Indonesia. Besides attacking corn, it also attacks sorghum (the main host), as well as other monoculture crops such as cotton and soybean. The use of chemical pesticides is still a priority in pest control so that other alternatives are needed, namely biological control. Therefore, this study aims to test the impact of entomopathogenic fungi applied to eggs of Cheilomenes sexmaculata (Fabr.). This study was designed using a Randomized Group Design (RAK) using entomopathogenic fungal isolates applied topically with 3 treatments and each treatment was repeated 4 times. All data regarding changes in egg color, behavior of hatched eggs, percentage of normal eggs, abnormal eggs, hatched and unhatched eggs, and fungal infested eggs were tested using Anova.
