As public officials, notaries are required to perform their duties in accordance with the applicable code of ethics and regulations. However, in practice, various violations that have the potential to harm society still occur. This study aims to analyze the examination procedures for notaries who violate the code of ethics, particularly those who have been subjected to criminal sanctions. Additionally, this study evaluates whether the procedures implemented by the Notary Supervisory Council (Majelis Pengawas Notaris or MPN) reflect the principle of due process of law.This research employs an empirical juridical method with a statutory and conceptual approach. The findings indicate that although the examination procedures conducted by the MPN are systematically regulated, their implementation still faces challenges, particularly regarding transparency and the protection of notaries’ rights during the examination process. Improvements in the supervisory system are necessary to ensure the application of the principles of justice and legal certainty.
