PENDUGAAN PENAMBATAN KARBON PADA TANAMAN KELAPA SAWIT UMUR 14 TAHUN DI LAHAN GAMBUT PT. WAIMUSI AGROINDAH KABUPATEN OGAN KOMERING ILIR PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
Peat has a high carbon content due to the large amount of organic matter that has accumulated over a long period of time. Carbon levels can be measured by calculating biomass and carbon above the soil surface in trees, litter, and dead wood (necromass). This study aims to estimate the amount of carbon stored in 14year-old oil palm plants in peatland of PT. Waimusi Agroindah, Mesuji Raya District. The method used is non-destructive analysis with an allometric equation approach. Measurement of stem diameter was carried out at 45 sample points spread across three observation blocks. The results showed that the average carbon stock stored reached 23.52 tons C/ha, with variations between blocks. Block 2 had the highest carbon stock of 26.83 tons C/ha, while Block 1 had the lowest carbon stock of 21.84 tons C/ha. The relationship between stem diameter and the amount of carbon stored showed that the larger the stem diameter, the higher the carbon that can be absorbed and stored in biomass.
