Family planning program as a solution to control education, this program is carried out by delaying marriage and using contraceptives. One of the contraceptive methods recommended by the government is the Long-Term Contraceptive Method (MKJP). However, the achievement of family planning through MKJP in South Sumatra Province is in the low category. The low use of MKJP is influenced by several factors, such as lack of knowledge and lack of information, as well as negative rumors that develop in the community regarding the side effects of using MKJP. This study aims to determine community participation in the use of MKJP and the factors that influence the use of MKJP in South Sumatra. The method used in this research is qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that community participation in the use of MKJP in South Sumatra includes the stages of decision-making, implementation, utilization, and evaluation, with active involvement through discussion forums, counseling, and coordination with health workers. Factors that influence participation consist of internal factors, such as age, education, and occupation, as well as external factors, such as husband support, social norms, and the role of government. To increase participation, it is necessary to strengthen the role of women and the support of husbands, change people's perceptions of MKJP, optimize access to services and distribution of contraceptives, as well as MOP campaigns to increase male involvement in family planning programs.
