This study aims to determine the microwave absorption characteristics of the composite material Yttrium Iron Garnet (Y3Fe5O12) and Barium Monoferrite (BaFe2O4), this research was carried out composition variations to observe the effect of magnetic properties of each different component. The synthesis of composite compounds was carried out by the solid reaction method. XRD analysis showed that both Yttrium Iron Garnet (Y3Fe5O12) and Barium Monoferrite (BaFe2O4) phases were successfully formed in all samples. SEM shows a rounded surface morphology and the higher the variation the larger the particle size. Better magnetization values were found in the 30% variation, with a balance of Ms (8 (emu/g) and Hc (82.5 Oe) values. The microwave absorption capability of Y2.5La0.5Fe5O12 + Ba0.9Sr0.1Fe2O4 composite material at C-band frequency is 4-8 GHz and X-band is 8-12 GHz, which shows that this material is able to absorb microwaves up to 90%. Microwave absorption at YB 5% (C-band 97.71%, 91.29%, and X-band 96.79%), YB 10% (C-band 98.23%, 92.87%, and X-band 97%), YB 30% (C-band 98.74%, 93.24%, and X-band 97.65%), and YB 50% (C-band 98.53%, 92.60%, and X-band 97.07%).
