UPAYA UNION OF EUROPEAN FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION (UEFA) DALAM MENGATASI ISU RASISME DI SEPAK BOLA EROPA TAHUN 2015-2022

This research aims to understand the efforts of the Union of European Football Association (UEFA) in addressing the issue of racism in European football from 2015 to 2022. UEFA, as the governing body of football in Europe, plays a crucial role in fostering a healthy football environment based on fair play and equality for all. In combating racism in European football, UEFA has implemented various initiatives and approaches to achieve its goal during the specified period. This study employs a qualitative-descriptive method. Secondary data sources, including previous research and reliable digital information, are utilized. David Lewis's concept of Non-Government Organization (NGO) serves as the theoretical foundation for this research. The findings indicate that UEFA has effectively fulfilled its role as an NGO through three main functions: as Implementers, by executing programs and regulations established to combat racism and organizing related campaigns in European football; as Catalysts, advocating for change, providing education, and empowerment initiatives; and as Partners, collaborating with charities and organizations sharing similar goals in addressing racism in European football from 2015 to 2022.
