Tidal swamp land in Central Kalimantan province has great potential for agricultural development, especially as a national food barn. The use of this land is faced with challenges such as low soil fertility. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the characteristics of soil chemistry and changes in soil quality index in tidal land in Bentuk Jaya Village, Dadahup District, Central Kalimantan before and after the application of amelyoran in the form of dolomite lime and microbial decomposers. The method used is a detailed level survey with an area of 1 Ha and Purposive Sampling technique at 10 observation points. Analysis of soil chemical properties includes pH, C-organic, N-total, P-available, K-dd, Cation Exchange Capacity, pyrite content and particle density. The results showed that the application of ameliorants increased several soil fertility variables, such as pH and nutrient availability and decreased several variables of soil chemical properties, such as N-total, P-available and K-dd, but the overall soil quality index did not show significant statistically. Factors such as the hydrological conditions of the land and the limited observation time can affect the effectiveness of amelioration.
