ANALISIS FAKTOR- FAKTOR KEPEMILIKAN JAMBAN DI DESA IBUL BESAR, KECAMATAN PEMULUTAN, KABUPATEN OGAN ILIR
Ibul Besar Village, Pemulutan District, Ogan Ilir Regency, continues to face challenges related to low toilet ownership, with only 26,9% of households having access to private toilets. This study aims to analyze the factors associated with toilet ownership in the village. We conducted a quantitative study using a cross-sectional approach. A total of 124 respondents were selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected through interviews using a structured questionnaire and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test. The results showed that housing density (p = 0.005; PR = 3.008; CI: 1.472–6.147), access to clean water (p = 0.013; PR = 0.777; CI: 0.700–0.861), and income (p = 0.013; PR = 3.546; CI: 1.281–9.812) were significantly associated with toilet ownership. In contrast, education (p = 0.160; PR = 2.923; CI: 0.731–11.691), knowledge (p = 0.763; PR = 1.438; CI: 0.468–4.419), attitude (p = 0.680; PR = 1.354; CI: 0.537–3.412), and health information sources (p = 0.737; PR = 1.668; CI: 0.429–6.481) were not significantly associated. This study highlights that inadequate housing density, limited access to clean water, and low income are key factors contributing to the low rate of toilet ownership. Enhancing access to clean water and implementing educational programs on the importance of toilet ownership are crucial in raising public awareness and improving sanitation conditions.
