UPAYA PENINGKATAN KREATIVITAS MELALUI KEGIATAN SAND PAINTING PADA ANAK USIA 5-6 TAHUN DI TK ISLAM AZ-ZAHRAH PALEMBANG
This study aims to determine the improvement of children's creativity through sand painting activities. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (CAR). The background of this research is the low level of creativity among children in Group B3 at TK Islam Az-Zahrah Palembang. The children face difficulties in developing ideas, imagination, and creativity. They tend to follow the given examples, show little flexibility, originality, and innovation, and appear hesitant to try new approaches. Additionally, some children lack enthusiasm, engage in coloring only to complete tasks, or are less motivated. In coloring activities, their works tend to lack variation and appear similar to others.Based on pre-cycle observations at TK Islam Az-Zahrah Palembang, out of 15 children, 13 children (87%) were categorized as MB (Beginning to Develop), and only 2 children (13%) reached the BSH (Developing as Expected) category. This research was conducted in 2 cycles, each consisting of 6 meetings. The sample consisted of children from Group B3, selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data collection methods included observation with checklists and field notes. The research results show that in Cycle I, 11 children (73%) were in the BSH category. In Cycle II, the number of children in the BSH category increased to 12 (80%), and 4 children (20%) successfully reached the BSB (Very Well Developed) category. The conclusion is that sand painting activities are effective in enhancing creativity. Therefore, it is recommended that teachers implement sand painting activities in learning sessions.
