ANALISIS METABOLIT DAN KADAR ANTIOKSIDAN DAUN MANGROVE Sonneratia alba J.E. Smith YANG BERASAL DARI SUNGSANG IV, BANYUASIN, SUMATERA SELATAN DENGAN METODE GC-MS
Sonneratia alba J.E. Smith or perepat is a mangrove plant belonging to the Sonneratiaceae family and is often found in coastal areas, one of which is in Sungsang IV Village, Banyuasin, South Sumatra. The potential of S. alba leaves as herbal plants is because they contain various metabolite compounds that have antioxidant, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and anticancer activities. This study aims to determine the content of dominant metabolite compounds, the abundance of compounds based on compound class analysis, and antioxidant levels of S. alba leaves from Pasir Timbul Island, Sungsang IV Village, Banyuasin, South Sumatra, with a metabolomic approach through the GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry) method. The accidental sampling method with the criteria of mature leaves in the order of 3-5 from the shoot and measurement of antioxidant levels using the DPPH (2,2-diphenyl-1-1-picrylhydrazyl) method. The analysis results were searched using PubChem, KEGG, Spectrabase, PlantCyc, and ChEBI websites. Based on GC-MS analysis, the results of the metabolite profile in the form of a chromatogram from the 96% methanol extract of S. alba leaves showed 17 peaks with a total of 14 compounds, 8 of which are dominant compounds, including the compounds 2-Propanol, 1,1'-oxybis (35.12%), 1-Propanol, 2-(2-hydroxypropoxy) (21.14%), 1-Propanol, 2-(2-hydroxypropoxy) (19.14%), -Amyrin (7.03%), 1-Propanol, 2,2'-oxybis (3.43%), Supraene (3.13%), Propane, 1-(1-ethoxyethoxy) (3.05%), dan ß-Amyrin (1.44%), with potential as antioxidant, antimicrobial, antibacterial, antifungal, anti-inflammatory, anticancer, analgesic, antimalarial, humectant, and pharmacological raw materials. The abundance of compounds based on the class of biosynthetic pathways consists of ether pathway (80%), mevalonic acid pathway (12%), acetic acid pathway (3%), cyclic acid pathway (2%), amino acid pathway (2%) and alcohol pathway (1%). The dominant class in GC-MS results is the ether class (82%) and triterpenoids (12%). The results of antioxidant content analysis of S. alba leaf samples with quercetin and ascorbic acid standards respectively have total antioxidant levels of 75.57 ± 17.31 ppm and 46.09 ± 10.04 ppm. It can be concluded that based on the content of compounds and bioactivity, this plant has the potential to be developed as herbal medicine and additional ingredients in the manufacture of cosmetics and preservatives.
