Job stress is a problem that can affect the mental health of workers in various sectors, one of which is education. Female teachers often face various job demands and multiple roles that can trigger job stress. Work stress experienced can have an impact on the physical and mental well-being of female teachers. This study aims to analyze the factors that influence work stress in female high school teachers in Betung Subdistrict, Banyuasin Regency. This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach and non-probability sampling technique, namely total sampling. Data were analyzed using chi-square test. The results of the analysis showed that marital status (p-value=0,024; PR=1,705; 95% Cl=0,999-2,908), job demands (p-value=0,002; PR=0,615; 95% Cl=0,471-0,803), control over work (p-value=0,009; PR=0,641; 95% Cl=0,515-0,800), social support from superiors (p-value=0,032; PR=1,418; 95% Cl=1,038-1,938) and coworkers (p-value=0,041; PR=1,767; 95% Cl=0,892-3,500) and changes in the organization (p-value=0,014; PR=1,486; 95% Cl=1,101-2,006) had an effect on job stress; while age (p-value=0,234; PR=1,104; 95% Cl=0,908-1,582), working time (p-value=0,628; PR=0,889; 95% Cl=0,664-1,191), interpersonal relationship (p-value=0,224; PR=1,236; 95% Cl=0,929-1,644), and role (p-value=0,190; PR=1,256; 95% Cl=0,953-1,654) had no effect. It was concluded that marital status, social support from superiors and co-workers and changes in the organization are risk factors that influence job stress; job demands and control over work are also protective factors. It is recommended that school management hold regular evaluation meetings, develop a clearer organizational structure and division of tasks, provide a suggestion box/digital platform that is followed up and given solutions, give appreciation to female teachers in the form of certificates and hold regular discussion forums as a collaborative forum for female teachers to share experiences, design lessons and discuss challenges in teaching.
