HUBUNGAN ANTARA SAFETY CLIMATE DAN SAFETY BEHAVIOR PADA PEKERJA DEPARTEMEN PRODUKSI PT SEMEN BATURAJA TBK TAHUN 2024
The low perception of workers towards OHS encourages unsafe work behavior, with safety behavior contributing 70% to the high number of work accidents in Indonesia. Management needs to pay attention to safety climate to improve worker welfare and safety. This study analyzed the relationship between safety climate and safety behavior in production department workers of PT Semen Baturaja in 2024 using quantitative methods with a cross-sectional study design. A sample of 92 respondents was selected through purposive sampling, and the data were analyzed using the chi-square test. The results showed that 57.6% of workers had positive safety behavior, while 65.2% of workers had a good safety climate. There is a significant relationship between safety climate and safety behavior p=0.002, especially in the dimensions of priority and management commitment p=0.019, safety management justice p=0.034, workers' commitment to safety p=0.049, and learning, communication and innovation p=0.040. In addition, education level is also related to safety behavior p=0.029. There is a significant relationship between safety climate and safety behavior, especially in the dimensions of leadership, justice, worker commitment, and learning and communication. The level of education also affects safety behavior. It is recommended that companies increase supervision through safety patrols, conduct safety training, and provide satisfaction surveys and online feedback forms to assess the effectiveness of safety management.
