EFEK PREBIOTIK TEPUNG UBI JALAR ORANYE (IPOMOEA BATATAS L) TERHADAP LAJU KONSUMSI, EFISIENSI KONVERSI, DAN PERTUMBUHAN HIDUP MAGGOT BSF (HERMETIA ILLUCENS L)
BSF maggots are organisms that can decompose waste quickly. The life cycle of black soldier flies is maggots (larvae), prepupae, pupae and adult insects. Sweet potato flour as a prebiotic contains fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) and Raffinose which can increase immunity, kill pathogenic bacteria, and balance microorganisms in the digestive tract of BSF maggots. This study used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 repetitions. The treatments included P0 50% pineapple and coconut, without prebiotics), P1 50% coconut, 40% pineapple, 10% prebiotics, P2 40 coconut, 50% pineapple, 10% prebiotics, P3 40% coconut, 40% pineapple, 20% prebiotics. Observation parameters include consumption rate, conversion efficiency, and weight gain (BSF maggot weight, BSF maggot width and length). The results of the study found that the highest consumption rate was in treatment P3 with 20% prebiotics being able to increase conversion efficiency, and the highest ECD was in P2 with 10% prebiotics being able to increase efficiency and the digestion process of BSF maggots, and the increase in maggot weight, width, and length of BSF maggots did not have a significant effect. This is due to environmental conditions and waste that cannot be selected and also high standard deviations are a problem for waste management even though efforts have been made to homogenize the waste. Keywords: Coconut pulp (C. nucifera), Pineapple peel (A. comosus), BSF maggot (H. iilucens), Sweet potato flour (I. Batatas).
