IDENTIFIKASI DISTRIBUSI DAN KELIMPAHAN MIKROPLASTIK PADA UDANG GALAH (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) DI SUNGAI KOMERING PROVINSI SUMATERA SELATAN
The research aimed to identify the distribution and abundance of microplastics in galah shrimp (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) from the Komering River in South Sumatra Province. The samples galah shrimp were prepared using 70% alcohol, followed by extraction using concentrated H2SO4 (95-97%) and 30% H2O2, producing powder that is ready to be tested. Based on visualization tests using a microscope and polymer characterization using FTIR, the samples were confirmed to contain microplastics. The microplastics found were in the forms of fragments, fibers, foam, films, and pellets. The colors identified included black, yellow, white, red, purple, blue, brown, and green. FTIR analysis using the ATR method revealed polymer types such as nylon, polypropylene, high-density polyethylene, low-density polyethylene, polyethylene terephthalate, and polystyrene. The distribution of samples was identified based on water quality conditions, including total suspended solids, current velocity, and depth. A total of 10 samples were collected from the Sungai 2 and Tanjung Ali stations, as these locations matched the habitat of the giant freshwater prawns. However, only 5 samples were obtained from the Jejawi station due to its shallow waters. Additionally, the abundance of microplastics was identified as 7-64 microplastic particles per prawn at the Jejawi station, 2-172 particles per prawn at the Sungai 2 station, and 6-138 particles per prawn at the Tanjung Ali station.
