UJI AKTIVITAS ANTIOKSIDAN DAUN DAN BUAH TANAMAN BELIMBING WULUH (Averrhoa blimbi L.) MENGGUNAKAN METODE DPPH
Free radicals are unstable molecules that can cause oxidative stress, which contributes to various degenerative diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Antioxidants play an important role in neutralizing free radicals by donating electrons so as to prevent cell damage. This study aims to determine the antioxidant activity and the correlation between total phenolic and flavonoid content with antioxidant activity of 96% ethanol extract and technical ethyl acetate and technical n-hexane fractions of belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa blimbi L.) leaves and fruits. Extraction was carried out using 96% ethanol solvent method, then fractionated using n-hexane solvent and technical ethyl acetate. Antioxidant activity testing using UV-Vis spectrophotometry with DPPH method. Antioxidant activity test obtained the best IC50 in leaf extract 30,356 μg/mL, the best total phenolic and flavonoid content in leaf extract 655,482 mg GAE/gr and total flavonoid content 376,052 mg GAE/gr. The relationship between total phenolic content and total flavonoid content is directly proportional to antioxidant activity. Keywords: Averrhoa Blimbi L, DPPH, Flavonoids, Phenolic, 96% Ethanol Solvent; Ethyl Acetate and N-Hexan technical fractions
