FORMULASI DISPERSI PADAT IBUPROFEN DENGAN NATRIUM ALGINAT DAN VARIASI KITOSAN MENGGUNAKAN TEKNIK CO-GRINDING
Ibuprofen is included in the Biopharmaceutical Classification System (BCS) Class II, namely drugs with irregular, slow and incomplete absorption properties. The combination of chitosan polymer with sodium alginate will increase the solubility of ibuprofen without causing systemic toxicity. Making a solid dispersion of ibuprofen using the co-grinding technique is carried out with the aim of reducing the particle size of the drug so that it dissolves more easily. Ibuprofen solid dispersion formula is made in three formulations using varying amounts of sodium alginate and chitosan. Ibuprofen solid dispersion samples were evaluated and characterized through XRD, FTIR, SEM, solubility tests and dissolution tests. The test results showed that the strength of the crystallinity was reduced through XRD characterization, there was no chemical interaction between Ibuprofen and the chitosan sodium alginate combination through FTIR characterization, and the morphology of the solid dispersion had changed to an amorphous form. the solubility of the solid dispersion in the SIF solution increased, and the dissolution rate of the ibuprofen formulation increased. From the test results, it can be seen that the use of the co-grinding method in making solid dispersions of ibuprofen can increase the solubility and dissolution rate of ibuprofen.
