PENGARUH PEMBERIAN PUPUK KOMPOS KULIT KOPI TERHADAP SISTEM TUMPANG SARI TANAMAN JAGUNG (Zea mays L.) DAN TANAMAN CABAI RAWIT (Capsicum frutescens L.)
Intercropping is an effort of agricultural intensification program with the aim to obtain optimal production results and maintain soil fertility. Plants that can be planted in intercropping include corn and cayenne pepper. To complete the nutrient needs required by plants, organic fertilizer can be given, namely coffee husk compost. This study tested the effect of coffee husk compost fertilizer on intercropping of corn (Zea mays L.) and cayenne pepper (Capsicum frutescens L.) which aims to optimize the land to get maximum results from two types of plants between corn and cayenne pepper treated with coffee husk compost fertilizer. This study was conducted at the Agro Training Center of Sriwijaya University from August 2024 to February 2025. The study was conducted using a randomized block design (RBD) with one treatment factor. The coffee husk compost treatment factor consisted of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The dose of organic fertilizer treatment from coffee husk waste with various different doses. Treatment 0 = Control (Without coffee husk compost). Treatment 1 = 1.5 Ton/ha-1 (1.4 kg of coffee husk compost/bed-1). Treatment 2 = 3.0 Ton/ha-1 (2.8 kg of coffee husk compost/bed-1). Treatment 3 = 4.5 Ton/ha-1 (4.2 kg of coffee husk compost/bed-1). Treatment 4 = 6.0 Ton/ha (5.6 kg of coffee husk compost/bed-1). Data analysis The results of the observations were then analyzed via excel and using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method. The results of this study stated that the effect of coffee husk compost fertilizer on the intercropping system of corn and cayenne pepper did not have a significant effect on corn plants, while it had an effect on chili plants on the parameter of cayenne pepper plant height 4 week which was the highest on average in the P2 treatment with a plant height of 23.46 cm and the lowest on average in the P0 treatment with a plant height of 21.21 cm, and on the parameter of the area of the cayenne pepper plant canopy 30 days with the highest on average in the P3 treatment with 408.60 cm2 while the lowest on average in the P1 treatment with an area of 110.46 cm2. And does not have a significant effect on other parameters of cayenne pepper plants.
